FANTASTIC PAID WORK EXPERIENCE: RECIPE FOR CHANGE FOOD LEVY RESEARCH AND FOCUS GROUP PROJECT

10th (pm), 11th and 12th April 2024 (RESEARCH DESIGN)

FIELDWORK / FOCUS GROUPS  (2 HOUR SESSIONS)

This is a brilliant paid work experience opportunity for young people who are studying politics, business, economics, sociology, health and social care in 6th form / college.

It is perfect for students in year 12 who want to gain high quality work experience. No experience is necessary. We are looking for young people who are motivated and keen to learn.

This is a qualitative research project and you will be working with experts to design a questionnaire, conduct interviews/focus groups and analyse the findings.

You will develop your confidence and skills, especially team-work, communications, creativity, problem solving and business awareness.

The research design days take place during the Easter holidays and the rest take place during the school day so you will need the approval of your teachers to take part.

Purpose

Our client: Sustain wants more food and drinks companies to change their recipes to make them healthier for all of us and they want the Government to add a levy onto the cost of the food products that will be invested in childrens’ health and access to good food.

You will be working with professionals from a leading organisation, Sustain, to help them create and deliver research and focus groups to help with their Recipe for Change campaign.


Coaching

You will be supported every step of the way by We Rise coaches and experts from global research firm IPSOS.

Timing

You will work for a total of 4.5 + days. You MUST be able to attend all day.

The first part of the Project takes place over three days:


Wednesday 10th from 12pm to 4pm, then all day Thursday 11th and Friday 12th April

There will also be a 2 hour focus group session that you will take part in between 15th and 30th April.

We will then come back together again on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd May to analyse the data and create a presentation.

Working hours are 9.30 am – 4pm.


Location

The project will take place at our client’s offices which is a tube journey away in central London on the first afternoon and then the rest of the project will be in Brixton at 3Space International House.


Pay

You will be paid £30 for each day that you work.
