WE RISE NEWS: We’re building an Edit Box on wheels!

We Rise has partnered with Clapham Film Unit to improve the delivery of our media output by building a dedicated Edit Box. Together we have won funding from the LHC Community Benefit Fund to build a self contained editing suite on wheels. Clapham Film Unit is a collective of local film-makers who also help coach our students with filming and editing.

Having the Edit Box means we can edit our film projects without having to bring in external editors and equipment. We can create higher quality films and social media, teach young people editing skills, and provide equipment for young people working with us to create content.

We Rise in house architect, Polly, is taking charge. She is designing a 3m x 3m box on wheels made from salvaged materials that can be moved around and partially opened for film screenings. 3Space are excited about this addition to the open-plan community use space on the 6th floor.

Edit Box will provide an on site editing suite for the Clapham Film Unit and a safe and accessible editing suite for members of the community, especially young Lambeth residents. We also plan to generate revenue by hiring it out.
